My girlfriend's birthday is coming up and I want to make it an unforgettable experience. Something she will remember for the rest of her life. A usual birthday for her consist of going to waking up -> work -> home -> novela -> zzz. I'm looking to change that this year. We will be staying in sosua/pop area and I need your help for ideas that will make this year more memorable. I was thinking ...

Afternoon helicopter tour of beach/shore area followed by <something specific to DR> and a trip to the sal?n for her. As to give me time to prepare a special dinner for us (May the lord help me when it comes to cooking). We will eat at the balcony/moonlight with a candle or two.. All lights off in the apartment. Followed by a CD I will make of all her favorite songs that I memorized every word to. I will need to learn to dance but I think I can manage (thank god for slow dancing).

Notes: The helicopter tour will leave me with a 200$(estimated) hole in my pocket. She has never flown before. Still looking for another way to seperate us incase she doesn't want to go to the sal?n. Her favorite meal is arroz con pollo. Favorite artist alex bueno / jose jose / elvis martinez / juan miguel / aventura / enrique igeslias (in that order). No idea how I will learn to dance? Maybe watching bachata videos on youtubo?

I'm posting this here because, everyone has an unforgettable birthday (hopefully). I am seeking to incorporate those ideas into this day. (Low cost ideas preferred!) Also anyone has any information on the helicopter tours? I did a search on the dr1 forum but the info is a bit outdated. Especially when it comes to pricing.

</something>The helicopter ride and a romantic meal will make it, dude.
No need to look for more.
If you want one inexpensive bonus that will help make it that much more memorable, take a Viagra and finish off the day with a bang..

You know what? That was actually one of my ideas. The midnight marathon...so she won't be able to walk the next day.

Helicopters are a great treat. It was my father-in-laws' 65th in February & we had the chopper land on Costabmar beach & take him for a 10 minute flight. He loved it!
They had some problems landing when they got back because someone called Politur & they tried to stop them landing, but this is the DR & Politur can't run too fast so a spot 100 yards further down the beach was used lol.
We also arranged a Dolphin Encounter at Ocean World which went down a treat, costly tho at over $100 including admission plus another $55 each for the rest of us.

Wow where's Laurapausinifan (Bob) when you need him, he's the romantic expert on here and plus he took his girlfriend on that helicopter ride..... anyway I just hope your girlfriend will appreciate all the thought you are putting into this day. Good luck.

Ah yes, I did spend quite some time reading about laurapausinifan's endeavors. He even posted some pictures taken on the helicopter.

All in all, it will be worth it at the end of the day. Her smile leaves me in shambles.
