I am flying into SDQ tomorrow (Wednesday) planning to meet my novia and go to her visa interview at the US Embassy very early Thursday. She tells me now that there is a strike tomorrow in SDO and that all transportation in and out of the city, including Caribe Tours buses, will be closed and that I might have to sleep at the airport.

I think she is probably overestimating the effects of the strike, and that she will be able to travel to SDO tomorrow from Puerto Plata, but what do local residents think. I have a non cancellable flight and I don't see that the American airlines is going to be canceling the flights because of this.
