1st DREAMIN? LIVE! BENEFIT CONCERT
On May 24th, various local musicians will come together for a benefit concert which will be held at Sea Horse Ranch. These musicians will help start a music program at the DREAM Project, a US nonprofit organization, which provides quality education for all children born into poverty in rural areas and small communities of the Dominican Republic. This will be the first of various concerts that will be held in the coming years for this same goal.
The idea started with the young musicians of the band Soulibre, many of which are students of the International School of Sosua. They thought it would be a good way for them to do their community service by giving something back to the less fortunate youth, by doing something that they love. A great part of the proceeds will help the Dream Project purchase basic musical instruments, and the members of Soulibre will follow up by volunteering and giving basic music classes at the Dream Project school in the Callejon de Cabarete. Hopefully these first steps can eventually grow into a proper music program.
This evening of Jazz, Rock and Reggae under the stars will feature the following diverse bands; Cabarete Jazz Quartet, Futuros divorciados and Soulibre.
Do not miss this night of great music to mingle, have a drink and a snack with friends all the while giving back a little to the community.
Tickets for the concert are RD$500 for adults and RD$250 for students.

El 24 de Mayo, varios m?sicos locales se unir?n para dar un concierto ben?fico en Sea Horse Ranch. Estos m?sicos ayudar?n a comenzar un programa de m?sica en el DREAM Project, una organizaci?n estadounidense sin fines de lucro, que provee una educaci?n de calidad para ni?os pobres en ?reas rurales y peque?as comunidades de la Rep?blica Dominicana. Este ser? el primero de varios conciertos que se llevar?n a cabo en los pr?ximos a?os con la misma finalidad.
La idea comenz? con los j?venes que integran la banda Soulibre, muchos de los cuales son estudiantes de la Escuela Internacional de Sos?a. Pensaron que era una forma de hacer servicio comunitario y ayudar a otros haciendo algo que a ellos les encanta. La mayor parte de las ganancias ayudar?n al DREAM Project a comprar instrumentos musicales b?sicos y los miembros de Soulibre, actuando como voluntarios, dar?n clases b?sicas de m?sica en la escuela del DREAM Project en el Callej?n de Cabarete. La idea es que estos primeros pasos eventualmente nos lleven a un verdadero programa de m?sica.
