Would getting a condo at El Neptuno be a good idea?

For the full experience of Sosua.

Any reason not to spend a week there?

For a first timer in the area

Thanks in advance

We have stayed many times at El Neptuno. It is a very short walk to the beach, on a quiet street and very well maintained. However, if you want to party all night, that is not the place to be as there are many owners and long term renters who like peace and quiet.

I think this is obvious. Even if Smot should find a villa or apt, they may find themselves out on the street or worse in a short time.

Take Rockys advice and find a hotel that will understand your vacation desires.

Look at Hotel Voramar at the edge of Sosua. It is also near the Casino/disco. Hotel Voramar Dominikanische Republik Sosua Cabarete You may have to find it on the page that comes up, direct link does not appear to work.

Luck to us all, Ringo

I agree - that was why I too warned him to be careful of a "dispute" with a rental owner and advised to look for a "guest friendly" hotel.
Better safe than sorry......

Mr. Poker,
I have never met you , but you seem like a very friendly and personable guy. Howewver, as a owner of a condo at El Neptuno, my impression is that you would not feel very comfortable there. As Ritiree noted, we like our peace and quiet, and we have rules to ensure a safe and quiet environment. Without trying to project any unhospitality, I just think the suggestions of the others on this thread are very good ones.

Folks, let's not confuse Smot Poker with TravelFiend. Ms./Mr Poker was very quick to agree they wouldn't be that daft in the DR & appears to be one traveller. TravelFiend actually asked the question & is travelling with graduation buddies. Two different people.

Thanks for the insight

My friend and I are respectful traveler's looking to have a nice holiday.

Not looking to draw negative attention, but do want to feel comfortable.

Not planning on having a guest, but you never know, this will be my fist trip down there.

Most importantly, I am not retarded, and what I do at home (see handle) will 100% not be happening in DR

I guess we'll play it by ear and rely on my senses when I arrive

tambo's advice:

1. change your DR1 handle to something a bit more PC.
2. enjoy your stay in la Republica Dominicana!

And to answer your question about El Neptuno, it's great.
You'd be hard pressed to find anything better in the same price range.
The quality is great, as is the administration, as is the location.
It's one of the top condo complexes in Sosua.
It's clearly not a party house so is not suitable for all, but for those who want to enjoy their vacation in luxury, it's hard to beat.
