Is the same nationwide, with the exception of the PRA neighborhoods that pay a fixed rate.

First 74 kWh: RD$108.65
75 kWh x RD$3.12
125 kWh x RD$3.12
100 kWh x RD$4.71
Up to 700 kWh RD$7.00

After that, I believe the rate doubles to RD$15.00 (not so sure -- keep my bill under 700kWh).

For example, if you consume 328 kWh, your bill will be RD$1,399.65

I have a bill in front of me and they are charging RD$9.10 a kwh since it is wayover 700 kwh.

But I understand when one goes over 700 kWh, the RD$9.10 fee applies to all the kilowatts. HB can confirm if this is so. That explains why the bill can double when a single kilowatt/hour is passed after the 700kWh.

Looking at my bill also. And also way over the 750 Kwh. I'm at 8.57 per Kwh. I do have a monthly fee of 108.85. Go figure.
And that applies to total Kwhs.

Lucky you !

I am with Luz&Fuerza in Las Terrenas. My bill for May 2008 is 2453RD$, I consumed 174Kw/h, and I am being charged 14.10RD$per Kw/h...

On the other hand, I almost never have any blackout...

AC in 2 of 4BR. We don't use much AC as I prefer the breeze which we have most of time and fans. 2 large refrigerators, washer, microwave, security lights etc are the load. Gas dryer and solar water. Most months we stay below 700 but don't worry much about it. Just want everyone to be comfortable which is why we have a home here. I am sure this month will be higher since my son and 7 yo granddaughter are visiting.
