La Tacita, corner of Barahona and Av. San Martin.
La Cafetera, el Conde, between 19 de Marzo and Duarte, I believe.

Both grind the coffee beans to your taste, fine for expresso machines , or less so for percolators.

a bit more expensive, around 75 pesos a pound but well worth it. Italians buy up these better beans for their own coffee back home and they are connoisseurs.

La Cafetera is a legendary institution, and its coffee is great, but actually after doing a taste test, I decided that La Tacita wins. Amazing coffee, but best savored in an espresso machine.

I brought 2 lbs home for a friend that LOVES coffee. She like the coffee from La Cafetera but LOVED the beans from the place near the fire house on la Mella??? ( It's been a while. Near Parque Independencia under the craft market)
