Looking for a place to rent in Santo Domingo

I am moving to Santo Domingo for work in a couple of weeks and will be staying from 3-6 months. I am looking for a place to rent that is within a 30 min. commute of my office in Zona Industrial de Herrera. I am looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom place that is safe, nicely furnished, cable, high speed internet, and has air conditioning. I currently live in Mexico and my Spanish is very good so I don't mind living in a less touristy area...as long as it's a nice area. I really don't have a specific rent amount in mind as long as it's a great place. Any additional advice you can give me to help during my stay would be appreciated. Also...in what part of the city is my office located and how far is it from some of the other key areas? Cheers!
