looking for tennis partners in the sosua/cabarete area- ( I am of intermediate standard, male 48)

If anyone is interested in brushing up their tennis I can also recommend Winston at Hotel Voramar (ask at reception)

I spend winter in Cabarete and have never seen a tennis court in the area. Where do you play???
I cannot offer to play as I am a beginner, I am also looking for lessons. Can you help with info?

I posted the voramar info because the prices are more reasonable than sea horse ranch (rd 150 each for a court for 1 hour or rd 1000 for a month and you can play as much as you want)- there are three lots of courts in sosua that i know of that allow visitors to play
sea horse ranch(on the cabarete road)
terramar(before sosua abajo)
and voramar(near the old casino)
I dont think terramar have a coach

Giaccomo 829-375-1180 is an excellent instructor. He actually works at Voramar. He is Italian. You can call him on his cell, or ask for him at Voramar. He is usually there about 5pm most days.

We play at the Terramar courts as we have a villa there. I'm not sure what condition they are in now but John was working on them when we left in February as on of the D.R.s top junior was going to train there for a while. We will be down there for a couple of weeks starting August 16th. My wife is a novice and I'm an advanced player.

Hi back to you. I'm guessing you are either John or Jupe as they were the only ones Phil played with back in February. We just got back from a couple of weeks down there but never hauled our racquets out of their cases. Too much other stuff to do as we brought the kids along this time and wanted to show them everything. Besides, playing tennis in 34 degrees and high humidity would have been hard on our Canadian hides. *smile* We will be back in late February and hope to get some tennis in then with old friends and new ones.

P.S. to the last message. The tennis courts in Terra Mar are in rough condition right now. Hopefully they will get fixed up again soon as they were working on the pool and other stuff while we were there.

Yes I am john ...hopefully we would be able arrange a tennis game next time you are here....I've not managed to find anyone to pay doubles with yet which I used to play a lot in the UK.
