I am looking to buy a bottle of Swiss or Southern German "Kirsch". Kirsch is clear 40 to 45% vol alcohol burnt from fermented sour cherries. It is not sweet (not a liqueur). It is usually used in hot melted cheese dishes typically associated to Swiss specialties like and foremost "Fondue" and in the preparation of some cakes in Germany.

I would welcome any indications of where I can buy this in the DR.

Thanks! ... J-D.

Bought a bottle quite some time ago here in SDQ but really don't remember where, it was Cherry ....

I like to use it on my Shrimp Cocktail souce, pretty nice.
If I remember I will let you know.

Kirsch

JD,

Turn off Av Gregorio Luperon (the main drag), onto Dr Rosen which is the road leading to Rocky's. Turn right at the first street before Rocky's, Pedro Clisante and after about 2 blocks on left side at corner of Calle Ayuntamiento is Super Super. If you can get Kirsch anywhere, it will be there.

Find Kirsch in the german store next to the car wash (Maxx Wash) right on the highway.
