Hello all!

I'm from the United States and will be moving to the Dominican Republic in January. I will be living there for about a year and a half but will be coming back to the states about every 5 month for a short visit. I've read in a few places that a tourist card will last be 30 days but a friend of mine that lives there just informed me that it will last for 6 months and after that you just have to pay a small fee. Does anyone know this to be true?

Thanks so much! :)

oops.. I meant to say a tourist card last for 60 days.. not 30. But I was still wondering if anyone has stayed past the 60 days?

I recently stayed two months and paid $10 upon departure. There's a schedule of how much it costs depending on how long you say beyond the 14 days (I think). I've also been there for 30 days and was never charged.
