Hotel/motel downtown puerto plata

First-timer in the Dominican Republic. Senior couple looking for a moderately priced hotel or motel right on the Malecon (or close) for a month-stay in the city of Puerto Plata next November 20.

All your suggestions and tips will be appreciated

Check out these places. While I havent stayed at any of them myself, the price and location may work for you.
To my knowledge, Apart Hotel Lomar, Hotel Montesilva and Portofino Guest House are within relatively close proximity to the Malecon.

Also, since you are technically travelling just before the high season, you may try and negotiate a monthly rate as you will likely be quoted a "per day" rate.

There is also Puerto Plata Beach Resort right on the Malecon but I was unsuccessful in finding their number for you.
