OMG!!! Finding a good dentist and finding out prices in Dominican Republic is like pulling teeth!! I had a really bad accident and I need 2 crowns on my 2 front teeth, 3 implants for 3 molars, and i have to remove a baby tooth and pull down the permanent one. I may need braces as well. The whole job in the US is close to $10,000.00 US and thats with decent dental insurance covering the rest!!! can anyone please be so kind as to recommend a great dentist and tell me how long it would take to do all this stuff and how much!!! Thanks

Where in the DR? There are plenty of recommendations on the board for good dentists in Santo Domingo, Santiago and the north coast.

Go to Salud Bucal, phone number is: 809-563-0660 in Santo Domingo, I dont know the Santiago number. but they are the best. I'm not a dentist but I think they can do that job for a half of that.. but you have to go there and ask for a Cotizacion.

Salud Bucal in santiago arent that great, i was there and i left

Omar Marte did the job and im so happy with it..

She can go for an evaluation...its free and depending on the price she can decide...
they work as fast as you want them to go and the price is better than salud Bucal adding a great service to all this.

Dr Quinones- Clinci Abreu

Is a maxiollo facial surgeon.. and at Clinic Abreu--his number is 809 686 3009 and his daughter is studying dentistry and is fluent in English. I believe that he is the head of the surgeon?s association here in the DR. Anyway, he extracted three teeth - utterly PAINLESS thank you.. and we are now working on the implants - which are going to be around $1900 US each. This is going to require a full mouth XRAY etc etc.. they can?t really give you quotes until they see you but I think this guy is probably the best in his field.

I have heard good things about Salud Bucal from people who have been here for 20 years but it may be that the head guy trained a whole team... I don?t know... anyway... I can?t actually say that Dr Quninones does great work-- but I was referred by Dr. Yamoishiata-- and -- I was certainly pleased with the extraction work.... and diplomas and general sense of the place....

BUT WAIT-- I saw that you were going to pay $10k for all the work plus had dental insurance so since Quinones is going to charge close to $6k for just three implants, you would probably be paying him about that for all that work... Implants in the States - from my understanding- run at about $7k each-- or at least that was the quote I got in NC

so perhaps Quinones will be out of your price range.

I received 8(eight) implants in Santiago in September of 2006. It was done by a specialist whom I believe was teaching interns how to complete the procedure.
Cost for 8(eight) prime implants was $1500.00
I have been told by an american dentist the work would cost between $34,000 and $40,000 in the states.
I have nothing but praise for the doctors work. I remember only driving to La Vega and entering a clinic and being put to sleep. I awoke in my bed at home. I have had no problems in 2(two) years. Another dentist here in Santiago told me and my ex-wife the work would have cost $6000(six thousand) if he had done it.
Before spending money on implants in DR I would look around for a similar program that would cut your cost to one percent of the total cost in the states.
Of course a dentist from Monti Cristi who knew my ex-wife "invited" us to participate in the Dental Study.
In closing : The dentist who was supposed to work on me from Monti Cristi did "not" work on me. I was turned over to a Pro before the treatment started. And again I have nothing but praise for the work I received. And later I had a Prostate biopsy conducted in Santiago.........nothing but absolutely splendid professional work.
But you have to go to the Pro's....I am retired US Army Dental Corps and I know that a lot of amatuers exist.

I would second recommendation for Salud Bucal in Santo Domingo. Does good work, well priced, speaks english. It is in Bella Vista Mall, third floor. The number is 809-255-0659 or 809-255-0423 (Can we start another post on why DR buisnesses love to give three to four phone numbers???)
