I'm shopping around for a new Trace 3.6 kw inverter.
Checking the local papers and calling around SD, I'm getting prices around US$1,326.00 including ITBIS for a new, in the box Trace 3.6 kw unit.
Then I get an Ebay coupon this a.m. for up to $100 off any single item purchase accepting Paypal.
I start checking Ebay for inverters and found that I can have a new 3.6 kw unit delivered to my door for US$938.41.
Ley 9-96 lets returning Dominicans bring in up to US$2,500.00 in goodies duty free (1 item each of electrical appliances) between 11/28 and 1/7/2009, so the inverter becomes duty free.
Throw it in a suit case and get on a plane.
Net savings of about US$400.00 if nothing happens to it during the warranty period.
Any better deals out there?
