Inundaciones en Montellano 22/11/2008
Rivers affected are: El Limonal, Mu?oz and Cam?, the part of the Mu?oz near Playa Dorada caused traffic holdups early this morning. The El Limonal near Montellano came to within 100 metres of the main PP-Sosua highway near Montellano also causing traffic jams. In downtown Puerto Plata the San Marcos river also burst its banks and flooded the Aguas Negras, El Javillar, Las Tres Palmas, Mono Mojao, Villa Progreso, Los Limones, Las Tres Palmas, Villa Miseria, Playa Oeste and Los Rieles barrios.
So far no fatalities other than livestock & Christmas turkeys and chickens which drowned. A lot of folks were evacuated in the early hours of this morning.
