You need you purchase "Mujer 2000" by Silvia de Pou. Great recipes for every dominican dish you could possibly think of. I am happy to say that I have been successful in my kitchen with her help.

Good Luck!

Lucy- I'm not sur if this is what you're after or not---This is the Dominican recipe for"Habituela con Dulce". It is the traditional 'drink' served at Samana Santa [Easter]. 1 lb. red beans. 4 small boxes of raisins, sugar to taste, 1/2 lb. cooked sweet potatoe, 2 pkg. milk cookies[substitute arrowroot in N.Am.], cinammon, salt, 2 cans condensed milk. Soak, then boil the beans 'til tender. Then blend the beans with the milk to puree. Strain. Mix all ingreds. together. Boil, then simmer to thicken. Stir frequently. I've tried it. It is delicious!
