Hi, i'm in SD from 10 till 22 december 2008.
I was wondering if anybody know some good nightlife spots.


I believe i'm going to guacara (aka the cave) on december 13th with a friend, but can anybody tell me what kind of party is going on that date?

I've never seen anyone at the Guacara Taina. Been there about 7 times but mainly just to show people visiting. It's the type of place you visit to say you've been there, not much else.

There are so many options in Santo Domingo. I'll babble off a few but you really need to specify what type of ambiance and music you want. I enjoy places like:

Colonial Zone: Doubles, Parque Duarte, Atarazana 9

Rest of city: Tonic, Cinamon, Retro Cafe, Ave Venezuela

There's more but just depends on your likes

I like all kinds of music but especially trance/techno/minimal
But if you know some local party pubs i will enjoy that as well

there is a techno party on the 13th in guacara taina.
some international DJ, are going to play.
have fun. thousands of people will be there.
unfortunately i will be in punta cana.

Try Fortuna carwash on San Vicente. It's always full and lots of fun, usually no tourists. Get there early on Sundays, like 7 or 8 because they get started early.

There is always lots to do in Colonial Zone.

Theres different street parties just haven't heard the exact dates yet.

Tonight theres a cigar-jazz party in Casa de Teatro and Wed. There's always great Jazz.

Every Sunday around 6 theres a band playing at the Colmado near the San Francisco Ruinas.

Going out in Santo Domingo

hello,

my friend and me (two girls, 25 and 28) are planning our vacation in Boca Chica right now..we'd like to spend one night in Santo Domingo to go out since there is not that much happening in B.C. anymore. Can anyone recommend a nice club that plays the typical dominican music Bachata, Merengue, Reggaeton etc? We are looking for a club not too fancy ( I hate snobby people lol) but it should also be safe to go there...thank you for your recommendations..P.S. no tourist traps either please
