DVD movies from USA to DR

Hello, my question would be if I am taking some DVD movies from the USA to DR to watch with my friends in their DVD player. Will they have the same compatibility? In other words will they work?:bunny:

Hiya ~ First a couple of things:-

I am assuming that the discs you are bringing are commercially produced (not home made); if so the discs will be classified as region 1 - 1 Canada, United States;US territories; Bermuda.

If the DVD player was purchased in the DR it will be most likely locked to region 4 - 4 Australia; Oceania, Central & South America; Caribbean; Mexico.

So they will be incompatable unless your friends have a DVD region free player OR one that was bought in the USA OR you make copies of your original discs.
