I was wondering if they sold milk chocolate, white chocolate, peanut butter or butterscotch chips in DR?

Also, is Eagle Brand condensed milk available in DR?

I appreciate any help :)

Nestles chocolate chips are available at Playero in Sosua. There is evaporated milk, but I am not sure whether I have ever seen Eagle Brand condensed milk.

Sounds like you plan on making something good!

I have purchased sweetened condensed milk at Supermercado Tropical in Puerto Plata. However, I cannot remember if it was Eagle brand.

If you take one can of sweetened condensed milk and add one box of unsweetened chocolate blocks and melt them together you can make chocolate balls and roll them in coconut or nuts or even cereal while the mixture is still warm.....refridgerate and enjoy.

And why didn't you think of this when I was down there?? I would have gladly taken some of them off your hands...lol.

I am going to have to try this out now!

Cheers
Erin

PS...Is there room in your refridgerator for these? Thanks for the phone loan and the beer!!!! See you again soon.

its milk with water taken out and sugar put in-I suppose it depends on the amount of sugar put in or the amount of water taken out ....I specialise in the bleedin' obvious lol

Isn't condensed milk just condensed milk, despite the brand name?

Depends on what the OP is looking for. If all she wants is condensed milk, then yes, any brand will do. However, if she wants Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk, which is sort of a caramelized syrup used solely for baking, then no, this is something different.

Perhaps we need a clarification for the OP before offering further advice.

I am looking for the Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk consistency and taste. Not all are the same like someone else pointed above.

As for selling them... sorry, it's for the kids and the family. Lots of fudge and candy to make with them.

Similar to Eagle Brand

There is a Nestle Brand of sweetened condensed milk, there are two sizes of cans available, one is smaller than Eagle Brand and the other, of course larger. I will need to go home and look in the cupboard for the name of it, but I have seen it at supermarkets in Puerto Plata.

First off where ru in DR? The Capital? If so there are several large supermarket chains...National. Super Pola, La Cadena, Bravo that sell all kinds of brands. I dont know if Eagle is there but I wouldnt doubt it..Good luck.

Oh, the search for baking goodies in the D.R. Sigh....I think the Crusades were more successful.;)

At least in Santiago, the only chips available are plain chocolate, at Supermercado Nacional. There were some white chocolate ones once too (only no US brands, Spanish I believe). Have not seen Eagle brand condensed milk anywhere.
I have gotten used to bringing these kind of things over with me whenever I travel.
