Hello,

What's the best way for a long-term tourist to obtain Internet dial-up access in the DR? Is there a way at all? Codetel only sends their Internet Kit to residents. Are there any other ISPs?

Has been mentioned before, AOL and Compuserve on 533 9181, not free but pretty reliable.

Yes there is, try Tricom www.tricom.net this is a new ISP in Santo Domingo...good luck

Tricom offers pretty much the same as Codetel, and they are not new. In 2001, Centennial Corporation and Orange (France Telecom) are promising new Internet products.
