Stay more than 30 days on Tourist card

Hi All,

I am planning to visit DR for 6 weeks to study Spanish. I will buy a tourist card from UK which is valid for 30 days.

Please could you give me some guidance on
1. How easy/difficult is it to extend the stay in DR?
2. How much does it cost?
3. Can I do it in Sosua or closeby?

Hi there,

Staying for 6 weeks is no problem at all.
There will be a “fine” at the air port when you leave.
We stayed for 4 months on a 30 day tourist pass – many people over stay and pay the fine with no difficulty.

Somewhere on this site will be the exact amount – but in English the fine will be about ?10 or LESS!

Have fun in Sosua!

Thanks guys. This is extremely useful

Bob- Can I see these fees on any official website? Just want to carry a printout with me to avoid trouble.
