-----------------------------

The Dominican Republic is a very nice place
Its people are friendly with a smile on every face
Even in harsh times as before
Where trouble left people feeling sore
But change was on the way we thought
A new President from New York was sought
A lawyer, honest and fresh faced
With charisma, charm and good taste
?Pa Lante? came the cry of the day
Progress and a better life was on the way
Not so, for corruption was in and honesty was out
Leaving many people with nowt
Once again Dominicans have been deceived
Where fairness and transparency not achieved
Talk is cheap and deeds are rare
Does he really care?
A man who feathers his own nest
Not caring about the rest
One hopes, the people of this land will learn
That is what I really yearn
To have a good President, an honest man
Like Barack Obama, with Yes We Can

Nowt: colloquil British English for nothing

What, a Dominican president that will print money like it's going out of style and will spend a trillion or two.
