I am interested in having cosmetic surgery done. Understand that many from the US travel to DR for procedure which is significantly less costly than in the US. Any information? Thanks

Teresa...please accept this information in the spirit in which it's intended...
Before considering any cosmetic surgery at home or abroad, please do extensive fact-finding. Start with the site below. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons has members world-wide, and membership in the society should be your first criteria in choosing a surgeon. Part of the ASPS mission is maintaining quality in the field and this helps insure patient safety.
On a more personal note, a full facelift entails postoperative drainage devices and several visits to remove sutures/staples, so research where you will stay after surgery to be close for visits for a couple of weeks.
Best wishes in your search for a qualified, skilled surgeon and a safe facility: these should be your guidelines for a sucessful operation before considering cost.
Regards,
WBD

even if it is less costly, by the time you add the cost of flights and a hotel stay there since you wouldn't want to get on a plane and go home for a week or so, it probably would be about the same as having it in the US. just my 2 cents...
