I imagine with 5 posts in 38 minutes, he will be packing for a very long time.
PICHARDO, are you moving to the city of Santiago? Best of luck!
LOL!!!!!
I got a few months before the contract is finalized and my stuff door to door in Santiago (that's not even counting the stuff that's hers to pack...).
Yup! Finally no more shuttling between homes for me (or my dogs). I had plenty hard times making the proxy work with the DR's internet providers.
I got a sweet "voluntary" lay off from my last job with plenty cushions...
Now all there's left is to cut all biz ties here before I head home and retirement, all before my planned dates but good nevertheless...
I had five (count them!) buyers and yet the banks were too problematic to close the deals, that's with guys that previously could had bought half of downtown Orlando with their present networth and credit value.
I fear that things will get uglier, much uglier during the next months before we get to see some relief here in the US...
My family is happy that I'm going to be actually living 24/7 in Santiago, I fear that the rest of my "free" time is already "scheduled" and I'm just going to be "filled-in" as the waypoints reach their appointed date...
But I owe them so many weekends and summers, that I think I can somehow "Sacrifice" my first year of official retirement as a designated driver, boat's captain, lead scout, handyman on-call 24hrs, home-landscape contractor, human ATM, BBQ's chef, extended family's host to parties (always smiling), Papi I need ____(fill the blank), Mi amor vamos a_____(fill the blank) and God knows whatever else a human body and mind can be capable to do as well...
I?m the only one moving to Santiago from my home away from home?
It?s hard to admit it, but I kind of liked the limited independence that came with the constant travel and long stays by myself here in the US? I love my family but, sometimes life is way tooooooooo social over in DR.
The funniest part is that every time we schedule a trip to our Casa de Campo home, it always turns into a multi person trip. I can?t recall the last time we stood at Casa de Campo as a simple family only. We always got tails, some longer than others?
Don?t get me wrong! I love all my extended family and friends, is just that sometimes you feel like saying Cono! And not having to be super-polite around others?Cono!! LOL!!!
Well? I can do just fine if I get around to packing at least 2 or three boxes per day/per weekday before the last day here! So I?ll sure as hell take my time packing!!! LOL!!!
It?s pretty much stuff from work, biz and our male kingdom kind of stuff that usually gets boxed out of the family home by your wife anyhow?
I just need her to agree with me on a place to set my billiard table; else I?ll raze the never used French patio and build my Hombre dignity room there? Let?s see what happens?
I feel like a college grad moving back into his parent?s home!! LOL!!!
