My wife and I always stay at La Grand Mansion on Danae. It is small, basic, but rooms are clean and each has a bathroom. The charge RD$350 a night for a single and RD$400 for two beds. From there it is an easy walk to El Conde shopping area. The phone is 682-2033 or 689-8758. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood and the quality level of guests is quite good, all things considered. We have been staying there for years when in Santo Domingo.
