any ideas how to deal with T-Mobile?

I just need my phone to be working in case I have an emergency (i have some health issues) or if a potential employer is trying to contact me.

I ended up signing up an Intl account that for 5 USD reduces my rate from 1.30 a min to 36 a min (calling from US to DR)...but calls while in the DR are still really expensive (1.30 a min).

Call centers are ok..but they seem to close pretty early.

Any ideas how to have my phone and save money?????

T-mobile uses Oranges network while roaming on the north coast.

Heres a cheaper and better idea (in my opinion).

Buy an Orange SIM card at the Orange store and put a few minutes on it. Change your voicemail message to your new DR phone number.

When you leave put the Tmobile SIM card back in.

Be sure your phone is unlocked! Look on the internet for unlocking methods as most phones are easily unlocked.

However, if all you need is emergency service, T-Mobile (via Orange) works just fine. Just don't make too many calls, or you might have a heart attack when you get the bill.
