I?m wondering if anyone has any experience with this. My dominican husband has a number of family members who have mentioned that they want to visit us in Canada. Most of them have gotten US visas in the past, and now have valid ten year american visas. My question is, has anyone had experience with people who apply for Canadian visas after already being granted a US one.

i posted about that some time ago Santos and my post was deleted cus someone commented he didnt believe me...

for me it was the inverse....after having a canadian visa i was able to have the american one, so i suppose it can work since they have the records in their passports for the american visa..

good luck

Dominican friends( husband & wife) of my husband and I obtained a canadian visitor visa a few years ago in 10 days and without interview. We wanted them to obtain an american visitor visa too since we own a property in the US and wanted to spend a few days overthere during their visit but they were refused the american one.

I'm not sure you are talking about visitor visa though.

yes mariposa, visitor visas

i guess its all about being lucky, cus i have seen people with good money in bank, properties, etc and they dont get the visa and at the same time people that come up with fraudulent bank and property papers getting it...so i dunno whats their criteria to avaluate people...

but still i think having records of travel help alot since they can see you have go and come back.

My wife has had a US visa since she was 2 or 4 years old and cannot come to Canada yet even on a visitors visa. She's been back and forth countless times and always returned home.

Travel history means nothing to the Canadian embassy.

you should not apply canadian visa in DR

After arriving in US with US visa, one should go to border town buffalo or Detroit and apply visa there. The purpose to visit canada should be see Niagara fall in Buffalo and gambling in windsor casino in Detroit. Most people will get visa if they do not know anybody in Canada. If someone already applies canadian visa before and fills out that he knows somebody in Canada ( boy friend, girl friend etc ) in old application, just discard what I said here and his chance to get canadian visitor visa is very small regardless where he will applies visa.
