Re: VIRUS ALERT- support for Jim
Jim is getting a bad rep here. Thousands of these alerts are posted or mailed every single day, warning of socalled virusses. Don?t participate in these daisychain-letters telling you to forward to your friends and colleagues. This is exactly what the perpetrator wants (he can collect these email-adresses). Consult virus & hoax labs instead.(www.datafellows.com/virus-info, www.symantec.com/avcenter/index.html, hoaxbusters.ciac.org/) If you?re connected to the net, put a good antivirus-software to work on your PC as well and keep your antivirus-definitions up to date !! If you have a continuous connection (cable, DSL)install a firewall (alladin, zone alarm, both free) Observe the simple groundrules : don?t open unsollicited attachments, check the viruslabs before you go near attachments with extensions .vbs, .exe. It may contain a virus or worse, install a trojan horse. Your PC and your privacy are in real trouble then. Thanx Jim, your advise was solid.
