Does anyone know where the Haitian Art Village is in Puerto Plata?

Yes and i am going to give you bad directions but here goes. It is about 4-6 blocks west of the main square (independence square with the big church), and behind the large Brugal facility on the main road leading off the Malacon. Sorry I don't know the street names. You wont miss it when you find it as it a 3-4 square blocks of run down homes with art work all about. Do bargin with the prices.
There is a guy (Julius) that if you ask for him he will take you around to the various shops (or do it on your own). If you use Julius he will help you with the bargining. Yes he does get a cut from the locals but he does help. We ususally give him $100RD or so for his help including carring all your loot for you back to your car. His shop is also one of the few some very good metal work.
