Using tools on thread

Hay new to the forum
This is a great site but I am having a little bit of trouble using the tools in my account, I can't get a PM sent, For some reason it doesn't save the ones I send out so I have no clue weather the receipients get them or not and the spell check is saying I have to download it. I just want someone to help me use the tools.

No I can't see a history of sent messages and why is it saying I have to download the spellcheck I am really leary about downloading extra software. Any tips.
