Shipping Computer to SD: Best way?

I need to ship a laptop computer, wireless router and a couple of other items to SD. While I don't mind paying FedEx to do it, I have my concerns about DR Customs (security of actual delivery), taxes etc....

FedEx said it would be in the DR in 3 days, but could not tell me how long it would take to clear.

My schedule won't allow me to bring it in personally, but I it when I get there. What is the best way to get this package delivered with all the contents in tact? Total weight is under 50 lbs.

Thanks for that info. The computer was like $550 and the router is an old one, the box is an opened box....there's some work out DVDs and packing foam (yoga mat) as well...sounds like I'll get off easy, as long as it's not stolen.......
