Just to slightly change the topic, are these the type of stone tiles that can be used in a oven for cooking pizza etc?

Isn't there a big factory off the Autopista in Santo Domingo that makes bricks and tiles?

Going North,it is on the left side before the light AFTER Carrefour, if my harddrive is not scratched again....an uncle of mine used to live across the street....there is a place that sell boats there now.

Let's see:
Lights at Manoguayabo, Carrefour, Tile factory on left, Light across from one of Ochao's depots...Yeah, that seems right.

they can stain quite easily, depending one where you are using them, I think they have to be sealed if using on the floor and they are prone to effloresense without a damp proof membrane

No terra cotta is different. I have two pizza stones and they are denser. Definitely bringing one on my next trip.
