What events are being held on the island in June, especially in the first two weeks of the month?

Thanks for the tips.

Thanks for the answers.

I have more questions:

Is the coffee festival not to be missed for visitors who have limited time in DR?

What about the San Antonio festival on June 13 at Yamasa?

Also, when is the Espiritu Santo celebration this year?

Thanks in advance...

The coffee festival is worth going to but it is a long drive and there is not much in the way of accommodation in the area. You can camp on the festival site or stay at a hotel in Barahona and 'commute' to the festival. Some people stay at family homes in Polo town but I'm not sure how that is arranged if you don't have local contacts. There is a hotel of sorts in Polo but it is dire.

The San Antonio Gag? in Yamasa is relatively near the capital and is accessible by guagua (from M?ximo G?mez or Villa Mella). Perhaps a better bet if your time is limited.

The Espiritu Santo celebration - not sure - possibly Villa Mella?
