shipping and customs
My advice is proceed with extreme caution.
Pack nothing of any value in your boxes and nothing fragile and be sure to collect from customs as soon as they arrive.
We shipped several boxes of household stuff and personal things by air to POP. Unfortunately our shippers failed to inform us when they had arrived and the boxes lay in customs over a weekend.
We spent several hours over 2 days and 8000pesos in a mixture of bribes and "fees" to get our boxes out of customs.
There was great show of having us present while the boxes were opened for inspection and re packed, or rather re stuffed.
When we got home we found they had all been opened from the bottom and re-sealed. We had lost about 20% of what we had packed.
I would suggest paying the extra and using fedex or UPS
