    Default Getting pay in US$ or DR pesos?

    I am going to sto dom in the near future to work. should i request to get paid in US$ or dominican pesos?. I will be sending money to US very often I am afraid i get screw up with the USdollar VS Dominican pesos exchange.
    Please advice.

    Always go for USD if you can because the peso is subject to fluctuation.

    I'm not sure, but if the firm is 100% legal in the DR and declares those wages, then they would be subject to a large tax, I believe up to 30%.

    This is a loophole they closed a few years ago.

    If the firm has offshore income and accounts, then getting around the local tax law is not a problem
