For business purposes I will keep my Belgian bank account when I move to the DR. As in Belgium, we do not know paper checks, like the US banks, what is the best, safest and cheapest way to get a hold of the money in a Belgian bank account.

Does anybody have experience in the time and cost involved in wiring money through the internet from Belgium to the Dominican Republic

My home account is in the UK in ? pounds sterling. I use HIFX ( they have a web page) to transfer sterling to my bank here in US dollars, HIFX do the exchange and the transfer in 3/4 days at no cost provided the sum is over ?5000. They do deal in Euros too. Send them an email and ask.
