cashing cheque from employer

When I receive a cheque from my employer and I go to the bank to cash it, will I have to pay any fees? I won't have a dominican bank account, I will simply need to go to the teller and cash my cheque on pay day. Are there any fees associated with this or is the amount written on the cheque the amount I will be given?

You will be given the full amount. You have to show an ID (passport or c?dula), sign the back of the cheque and write down your passport or c?dula number.
