Since this is my 1st post I'll just take time to say this is a pretty nifty spot to come. Lotsa great info on a wonderful country.
I've been there twice, 1st time in the south part of the island and the second time was the northern part. I'm planning a longer trip next winter. (something like 3 months or so) But I definitely would like to rent a little sail boat (laser/hobbie cat) on more than one occasion. I've read about a great shop in Cabarete but I'm wondering if they have a discount for heavy renters. If anyone heard of that how much would it cost? (would love to rent pretty much every time the weather is nice to go out on the ocean)
Any one here have insights for me?!? Anyone have heard if it's possible to rent boats from AI hotels even if I'm not staying there? Perhaps straight from the guy taking care of the boats for the hotel?!?
how much would be a good enough tip for the guy to take the risk on his own without letting the hotel know?
