Nice pics! Many girls need to eat some more frito, they're too skinny

A lot of underfed girls, however perhaps one or two will get a contract. Nice photo's though, clear. Not a happy face until the last photo.
I thought they were pretty cute. They are not smiling because thats how they're trained -- this is catwalk modelling. It was pretty impressive actually.
The more surprising thing to me was their ages -- the winner of the night was 14. Probably most of the girls in these pics are 14-16.

Saying that, the average age of a skin care model is 17.

Looks like the DR has "caught up" with Europe and North America in one of the areas it would do well to avoid emulating.
Some of those upper-arm circumference measurements would surely put them in the malnutrition bracket. Apart from the nice, smiling, life-size girls in the last photo, they don't look like people you'd like to meet.

Its interesting seeing the responses from the forum.
This was one of the top modelling events in the DR and quite hard to get into (you have to know people to get tickets). People attending felt very privileged and I thought the girls were very cute.
Just about any Dominican girl would love to have been on that catwalk.

I think girls' faces are very pretty and they have nice hair. It is just that they are probably very small with not much to hold on to for guys on this forum. When I lost a lot of weight - my ex did not like it at all. So, I guess those girls might need to gain some in order for their own men to like them.
Indeed, after talking with many Dominican men in regards this this subject most certainly like a woman with meat on their bones. Me I like all women as as they are physically clean and have good teeth. Bad teeth are a real turn off.
The 2nd Photo Set the Tone
The second photo was a bit disturbing. Three of the women in that photo look like they're a size "00." I know that they can grow them thin and bony in DR, but "00" for me, was too thin for a model. I prefer a size "1/2."

Anorexia & Bulimia
The problem with some young girls who want to become models, will pretty much do anything to stay rail thin (size 0), which includes poor eating habits and even self-induced vomiting after meals. A problem occuring in the US and easily spread to the DR if girls believe that "thin is in".
