a case of Presidente regular size bottles (24 x 330ml) is about RD920 (US$25.50) in Costambar, if you bring the green plastic crate with the empties.

cool! thanks guys. moving down soon for a while and wondering what i would have to set aside in the budget for Presidente. in general, what are liquor costs if anyone has some number's handy? i'm going to assume rum is cheaper still. what about good brands of beer that are cheaper than Presidente if anything like that exists?

I'm on a budget and I drink Bohemia light which is RD53-55 for the 22 oz bottle. However, Brahama can be had for I think RD35 and it is ok. The rum runs from RD95 to 140 for the 375 ml bottle. Barcelo A?ejo can be had for RD95 while the Brugal I think runs for 125. I can't really tell the difference from the two. The ron dorado of the two brands run RD95 and 110 or so, respectivley.

Also, Barcelo just released a new vodka called "Russian Red" and it is good and only is RD100 for the 375ml bottle.

Buen provecho, just remember it's better to drink a little too little than a little too much. :)

Very interesting priorities for someone who is "moving down soon for a while". Please keep us posted. This could be interesting...........:rambo:

Maybe he's a college student. I remember painstakingly budgeting for my weekend jumo of Milkwaulkee's Best tall boys (aka The Beast). In 1990, about USD3.00/6-pack. What a hangover though...
