What does this mean? :ermm:

All over Latin neighborhoods are signs that say Envio Dinero [sp?], they call them envios. We send a few hundred dollars to my suegra every month through ours, I think they charge us about $5-10 or so, and deliver it directly to the address you specify. We send it to my husband's brother, they bring it right to his office. (we don't send it to her house because nosy people know who the guy is who brings the money, and we don't want them to know she just got cash)

not what the OP was asking

What is the best way to send money from the DR to The US?

She wants to know about sending in the Other Direction!!

Oh course, this is completely unheard of.....

no no no no no

I think that probably it is completely impossible to send money from here to there...... If word of this gets out,,,,, well....

yes, I know that certainly Naco Piantini Bella Vista Arroyo Hondo La Romana etc are much much richer than Washington Heights.

But, really, we simply cannot have the money flowing OUT of the country!

(try Western Union!);)

Now at Banco Leon, you can buy a prepaid Visa debit card which is for international use, as well as Web purchases!

You need an account with them, however. I recently sent 3 cards to the States.

Probably more complex then WU, but it's just an idea!

Agreed with WESTERN UNION.
There is a big stretch of all Vimenca/Western union locations right off la 27 de Febrero, is it on Alma Mater? you can send money from DR to the US no problem there!
