ANYBODY got ANY info on whats hapenning with the CD's

Some of mine have only a couple of months to run and I'm concerned to say the least.

Obtained yesterday as it happens:

Banco Popular:
From RD$100,000 to RD$4,000,000 = 4% yearly (certificated x 1 year)
From RD$4,000,000 or more – 4.10% (certificated x 1 year)
Certificated for six months 3.75%.

Banco Leon:
From RD$100,000 to RD$4,000,000
Certificated x 1 year = 5.75% yearly
Certificated x 1.5 year = 6% yearly
Certificated x 6 months = 5.5%

Banco Reservas:
From RD$100,000 – RD$4,000,000
Certificated x 6 months = 5.25% yearly
Certificated x 1 year = 6% yearly

Banco Central (same as Banco Reservas)

I was told there was an archived news story on DR1 about why they were suspended. Without seeing that story, my guess is that the DR Government did not want to add to its debt when negotiating new loans with the IMF. Does anyone have access to the "archives" to find that news story?

I think I'm confused because this looks like a non sequitur to the thread topic. So all I can do is wrinkle up my face some more and say "eh?"
