Hey everyone. I recently made my first trip to The DR and fell in love with the country and the people. I work as a nurse in Canada and have a rotation that runs from Sept.-June. During my 2 months off, I would love to do something in the DR that was nursing or health care related. Even volunteer work in the nursing field would be good. Any help or information on nursing requirments or positions in the Dominican Republic would be greatly appreciated.
P.S.-I'm working on my Spanish!

You should know that nurses are not held in the same level of respect that they receive in the more developed world.
There are very few highly trained nurses. Most have just a bare-bones training.

There are orphanages, schools and other projects (like the Dream Project or Integraci?n Juvenil or Mustard Seed) that could use your help.
