...from the perspective of the residents themselves.

tvbateyes

This site was produced through a project that involved 35 youth in the bateys in the Southwest. They were given technical training in the area of social media communications, and these are some of the videos and photos that they came up with. It's great to see a community be empowered to show that there is much more to a batey than it's state of poverty. There are talented youth, competent community leaders and local non-profits ready to discuss and take on real community problems.

Great Job, to see a real life of DR. most of the people who lives in the Batey are Haitian or their background is Haitian. They work or used to worked at the sugar cane
field earning almost nothing for what I call modern slavery. Hatian Woman who give birth in the DR the child has not right to a Dominican Nationality or it will be a nightmare to clame it.

Good job and who ever is organizing those film to be careful because many people in the goverment wont like the idea of exposing the real life that people in the batey has.

One of the people involved in this project is an old colleague of mine, he phoned us the other day to tell us he was back in the country. Good to see all that work come to fruition.
