Volunteer Project

My son will be traveling to the Domenican Republic (Banica) on a volunter project from his school. While we are somwhat hesitant in letting him go we view it as a life experience and hope that he gains much from it. Anyone familiar with this area??

From a girl that went on a social awareness trip to the Dominican Republic, when I was still in high school, it has changed my entire life. I have never vistited the area that your son is going to but it is a very safe country and the beautiful people that live anything treat you like gold.

Contact the project itself and get info on the area. If they have worked in the area before, get names of other volunteers and have your son talk with them about their experiences. Any reputable organization would give you access to past volunteers. Good luck! No doubt, he will walk away a better person, I can guarantee that!
