My daughter lives in the D.R. now, but I live in the States. Is there anything I could bring down with me in my luggage (legally, of course!) to sell or bring down for other expats that would help defray the cost of my ticket so I can come down more often? Any suggestions? Thanks.

1) Fly Jet Blue or Spirit
2) Stuff for women: cosmetics, perfumes, t-shirts--good ones of course. Stuff that yu can double the price and still sell them
3) Watches/Swatches
Just check the fashion pages and bring accessories--there are plenty of stores here that sell these things. I don't have a clue as to what they are??

Bring a sack full of cell phones. Make sure they have bluetooth/camara/mp3 ringtones and are easy to unlock. On a previous trip I bought a samsung a437 for $30 from AT&T just to use while I was here. Before I left for the airport I sold it for RD$1500 and 2 beers.

Also consider Aeropostale t-shirts for girls. I see so many of them it makes me want to buy stock in the company.

Best to BringLap top computer!

I bought a Toshiba "Satelite" model L455-S5975 that I just bought at BEST BUY for $300. Saw it here in the paper for 24,000 pesos. No duty to bring in a laptop! Cris colon ccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc

Marshall's

Buy name brand perfumes at Marshall's for less than half of what department stores and sell them there for twice what you paid. They will cost the recipient half what you can get them for in the D.R.

A clerk at my hotel resolved a problem expertly and on the next trip I brought a his/hers set of CK for him and his wife. I spent $20 at TJ Maxx and didn't think it was a really big deal but he almost jumped out of his skin with joy. A 3pack of FOTL's cost me $18 in a Santo Domingo store (luggage delayed). The same sells for $5 at Marshalls. These were probably the same FOTL's that they manufacture in the D.R.

Maybe an idea if you can wait till you get back to the States is to buy Cialis, Viagra or la Pela here and sell them over there.
Profit seems to be good and quite a few do it.:bunny::bunny:

Great advice to suggest crossing an international border with Rx Drugs without a prescription.

That's how they busted Rush Limbaugh on his return from PUC. Now THAT was funny.

What wonderful ideas! Thank you all very much!

Now, if I may ask a stupid question that reveals my lack of knowledge of Dominican life--once I bring them down, where do I find buyers for these prized laptops, cell phones, and beauty products? (Sorry to have to ask about what probably is obvious to those of you who live there.) Thanks.

I don't know if DR1 has a classified section for electronics but if they have I'll advice you to post them there.
