fishing season

Hi there,

I've been to DR in october and did some windsurfing and 1 day fishing with a small boat.

I want to come back for some more fishing.
Can someone tell me what the best season is for fishing? (I heard november/december was kind of "sailfish season")

Will april be good? and what gear must I bring?
(last time my gear was way to light.... caught 4 fish (all about 50cm)

Are there many small boats for rent? and where? (5meter boats with a guy stearing it and who knows where to fish)
