DR1 News breaks for the holidays

We assume no news is good news. Thus, as of tomorrow, Wednesday 30 December, the DR1 Daily News takes a break for the New Year holidays to concentrate on the good news. The news digest will not be updated until the Monday, 4 January issue that will summarize headline-making stories for the New Year holiday period.

Is this in error?

Because:

The following holidays are being celebrated on the closest Monday to the actual date:

Monday, 4 January: Three Kings Day. Actually falls on 6 January.

PS: I posted in this forum because that is where the Dominican Holiday Calendar is located.

Yes, there was some confusion and there will be no DR1 news today after all. Apologies.

South Coast
Celebrated TODAY - they changed it this year to give everyone an even longer weekend. Most businesses closed Thurs [some worked 1/2 day], Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon [today]. A few opened on Saturday. Today we came back from the north coast [Montecristi] to Santo Domingo, and we saw people everywhere carrying wrapped gifts. In one town we passed through, one of the politicians running for office {Heinz} had a huge bus parked in the center of the main street, and there were literally hundreds of kids out there getting gifts from people inside who were passing them out through the window. Quite a scene.
