Due to this week's rather inclement weather, a couple who travelled with Thomson from Manchester, UK wanted to extend their 1 week holiday to 2 weeks. When Thomson flights were approached re a change of date for their return to the UK, they were told 'no problem', we will sell you a one-way return to the UK the following week but at a price!! That price is the usual one-way cost from the DR to the UK (USD$ 550 upwards) which is almost the same as they paid for their original return ticket from UK to the DR. Are these airlines trying to help tourism to the DR or destroy it?

As usual, the story is that their ticket to return next Tuesday is not transferable but they are more than happy to sell them an overpriced ticket for one week later - in my opinion that is disgusting practice!

When they buy a tourpackage in London it includes a hotel stay and discounted return airfare LON PUJ LON which is non refundedm nin transferible etc, this is because of its minimum price. You have another option if you want to have one year validity ticket, fly with British Airways and it will cost you 3 times more than entire package on this charter. So if you pay cheapest you must be prepared to play by their rules. All airlines work like this.

Now in PUJ they want to buy a new one way ticket, so British Airways is 1,110 USD one way, I don;t see why is it so expensive>????
