For people needing to travel to the PAP airport/DR border from Jeremie (SW) and from northwestern Haiti, is there a route that avoids having to drive through the city of Port-au-Prince? Which would be the best option right now?

Unfortunely, I see the solution will have to be to open the borders so the logjam of people wanting to get out of Haiti, would have to do so by the AILA in order to free resources in the PAP airport which is critical to be able to receive help.

They should also send fuel from the DR to Haiti in trucks in order for those planes that already arrived to be able to takeoff again and clear space for the next incoming aid.

These are foreign nationals we're concerned about, who are stuck in the country. They have transport options to get them to the border or the airport but they want to avoid PAP.

Long way around to Banica or Dajabon? or down to Jacmel-> Belle Anse and across to Pedernales? Or up to Comendador and over to SJM?

Sorry, my mental map of Haiti is off...

Of course over to Cap Haitian would be best. Air lift out.

The ones in the north west could head for Cap and on to Dajabon.
The ones in Jeremie haven't got much choice but to go via PaP. Sadly, Jacmel was also affected so that route is also problematic.

They managed to get out OK yesterday - don't have the details though. Thanks for all the info and advice.
