The Mayor’s Office of the National District (ADN) says garbage has accumulated in several National District neighborhoods because of the limitations on collection caused by the 7pm curfew. The explanation was provided after N Digital showed videos of garbage piled up in many neighborhoods. The ADN explained that most of the garbage collection operates have been traditionally carried out in the evening-dawn schedule, to take advantage of less traffic. The curfew has caused the collection trucks and personnel who normally work 16 hours a day to reduce the workday to eight hours.
“The garbage collection schedule is limited to five o’clock in the afternoon, because the curfew begins at 7:00 at night, so it is from 6:00 to 9:00 in the morning when more garbage can be collected,” explains the ADN.
